Pam Aird has been invloved in folk music in one way or another for over twenty-five years. Whilst living on the South Coast, Pam became involved with SCoFF (Southern Counties Folk Federation) and held the post of Secretary for four years before moving back to Abingdon. Pam then became involved with the Guernsey International Folk Festival for many years and coordinated with the festival organisers and musicians to play there. Whilst involved with SCoFF, Pam also helped out with Folk on Tap magazine and has reviewed may artists. Many people will have seen Pam at Festivals including Cropredy and Gosport. Pam has an open mind when it comes to Folk and Roots music and would not comment on her favourites - diplomatic lady that she is! It only takes one pint to get Pam drunk...............normally the 10th! Alick Alder is Pam's partner who comes from a folk & folk / rock background and has an eclectic taste in music. He has an excellent ear for quality sound from a solo artist to a full band. He knows what he likes musically and LOVES his real ales. You are more likely to find him near the bar than being on the door! Mike Ward is well known around this area for his lighting expertise with various Drama Groups. Music At The Unicorn were very lucky to engage his services for the first concert with Richard Thompson and his lighting effects go from strength to strength with each concert. Mike is a valued member of the team who also enjoys partaking in the activity of drinking real ale - and the more he drinks the better the effects become..... Jaqui Hepher not only looks after the bar for Music At The Unicorn, but she is also a bit of a 'luvvy' and likes nothing better than performing with a local Stage Musical group. She also loves meeting her other audience at Music At The Unicorn when she's behind the bar. Jaqui is also Pams sister, but nepotism has no place within this team! If it wasn't for Jaqui, concert nights would be very dry. Mike Hemmings took over as our Front of House Manager when Jeremy Denton moved away from Abingdon. Mike can be seen around the area as a member of Mr Hemmings Morris Dancing side - which includes the activity of drinking as much real ale as possible, without spilling any - good man!
